About this website

In this short video, BBC's Carol Bundock tells you why The Learning Location is such an important innovation and outlines how to use it.

How does it work?

You can search straight away for education and training courses, or complete our 'How Confident Do I Feel?' Tool to help you to work out the areas of palliative and end of life care that you may need training in.

If you register on the website, you can also use our new online Learning and Development Needs Tool. This is easy to use and covers the main areas of palliative and end of life care in three short case studies. By registering with the site we can also keep in touch with you if you wish and let you know about palliative care news and local events.

The Learning Location also gives you the chance to have a 'My Progress' area where you can keep a confidential record of the courses you complete and your learning from them so that you can monitor your own development.

Providing really good care is easier if you have the right education and training.

What is the Learning Location?

The Norfolk and Suffolk Palliative Care Academy has set up the Learning Location website to provide information about education and training opportunities for people involved in palliative and end of life care in Norfolk and Suffolk.

The Learning Location brings together a wide range of learning resources in one place to help you find the support and training you need. You can also find out about ways to help to fund your courses.

New courses area being added regularly, so check the find a course section so you can find the right training for you.

What is palliative and end of life care?

Palliative and end of life care is about treatment and care focusing on the needs of the whole person as well as their family, carers and friends. It is not just about managing pain and other symptoms but includes support to deal with emotional needs, social and spiritual needs, care in bereavement and help dealing with the financial effects. Follow this link for more information about what palliative and end of life care is all about.
